Is the rope handle just for show?
The hemp rope is a structural and decorative element that cinches the stone body to the wall mount. While it provides an authentic nautical aesthetic, the fixture should always be secured via the metal hardwired base during installation.
Are the natural pores in the stone a defect?
No, the pitting and cavities are the defining natural characteristics of genuine travertine. We leave the stone unfilled to preserve its raw, tactile texture, which is a hallmark of luxury organic design.
Is this fixture dimmable?
Yes. By pairing the sconce with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and connecting it to a compatible wall dimmer switch, you can fully control the intensity of the downward light wash.
How do I clean the rope and stone?
Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush to remove dust from the travertine. For the hemp rope, a light dusting with a lint roller or compressed air works best. Avoid all liquid chemical cleaners as they can seep into the porous stone.
